We won't have turkey dinner but must make do with chocolate muffins and pink champagne, on the beach, Christmas morning. As some would say " doesn't suck!"

Christmas greetings from Cape Town.

I thought I would find some interesting incongruous 'Christmas in the tropics' shots to make you smile but, alas, no such luck. I have to make do with what we find around us, namely hibiscus, palm trees dressed for Christmas, our views of Table Mountain and the marina where our apartment is located.

We've been here two weeks and it may surprise you to hear that we have no regrets; we miss neither northern Europe nor North America.

We'll celebrate Christmas with a bottle of bubbly on the beach and think of you fondly.
